Baby Owen

If ever a baby was born into the world surrounded by love, surely it was baby Owen. He arrived at 1:35 pm on March 28, 2011 with a scream, weighing in at 6lbs. 12.8 oz. and 19.5 in. long.
Baby Owen was delivered into the waiting arms of Lielee, before meeting all makes of parents, grandparents, great grandparents. But in all of the excitement, one voice could be heard above all others - his big brother Levi running up the halls screaming BABY OWEN IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Baby Owen with Lielee and William

After a couple hours of visiting, we all relocated down the hall and attended to the first feeding, where we quickly learned that he had a knack for both eating and burping! After a little fortifying, Owen got down to the business of meeting all of Lielee and William's friends and family. Friends of Lielee's that I remembered meeting at her her quiencierra just a few years ago, aunts, uncles, grandparents and great-grandparents, new friends, old friends. All afternoon and evening there was a constant stream of people who came to hold and kiss and sing to Owen. After a final good-night kiss from Lielee and and William, it was off to sleep with Momma, while Daddy and Levi headed to a hotel next door.

The next day there were more visits from Rieree and Frank, the Marrero's, and BB. Lielee came over and had a chance to give Owen a bottle, along with more hugs and kisses. She even got to change his diaper and was officially "initiated":)

On the third day, we all headed back to Lielee's room where I witnessed first hand the overwhelming power of a mother's love. With more strength, love, compassion and composure than I have ever known, Lielee forever changed our family and for that I am eternally grateful. Baby Owen became Owen McCance Belanger and I became a mother again.
